Regional Initiatives In 2005

April 13, 2005

Hopefully you’ve seen regional advertisements for Key Partner Consultations and other regional advocacy initiatives in 2005. The purpose of these initiatives is to get other teams to join us in our work of reaching CEE for Christ. To God’s glory we already have 61 strategy coordinator (SC) led teams in place. However, there are still 234 Unreached People Groups* in CEE totaling 264.8 million persons. Our task has only just begun!

As we continue to advocate for our established missionaries and engaged groups through the Richmond office, the regional mobilization team and CEE communications, we are also pursuing new initiatives to reach the unengaged so that we can fulfill the vision of “Hope for Every Heart, a Church-Planting Movement (CPM) for Every People”. The vast and urgent need of reaching the lost in CEE compels us to continue to think outside the box and involve stateside and other partners in deeper levels of our work. Through virtual SC training (for SBC partners), development of national and GCC (Great Commission Christian) SC’s, and media partnerships, we are working toward our goal of having 122 priority target groups engaged with 4th generation multiplying church planting by 2010.

Thus, the 2005 KEY PARTNER CONSULTATION (KPC) meetings are planned for this month in Texas. From April 20-27 CEE Regional office representatives will meet with interested churches, ministries and individuals in both Houston and Ft. Worth in order to share a vision for new partnership opportunities. Three tracts have been developed in order to give a wide range of ministry possibilities.

Track 1 is basic partnership with CEE missionary teams already in place on the field. These teams have requests for volunteers to come and partner with them through prayer walking, evangelism, leadership development, English classes, church planting and other unique opportunities.  Reports will be shared about how God is at work and how he might be calling participants to join us in the effort of reaching this vast region for Christ. Code Blue is a specific initiative to recruit strategy coordinator interns, apprentices and career missionaries.

Track 2 is called Accelerate Hope and focuses on recruiting Virtual Strategy Coordinators (VSCs) from among partnering churches/ministries stateside. This VSC would accept the responsibility of reaching a people group or city for Christ where the IMB currently does not have personnel. In this consultation track, churches or ministries considering this role will be equipped in the principles and practices of being a virtual strategy coordinator and facilitating church-planting movements.

Track 3 is an opportunity to become a media partner with Hope Communications. Potential partners are photographers, videographers, writers, graphic artists, communication specialists, and Web developers, and others who want to use their media gifts and talents to bring the hope of Christ to the lost in CEE.

Please join us in praying for the KPC meetings this month in Texas, as well as the 2nd KPC meeting planned for November in Atlanta.  If you are interested in being involved with either of these meetings, visit our Key Partner Consultation page for more information or for registration.
