Another thank-you letter from the field
There are really no words to adequately express appreciation for what the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® means to our family and to the children of Russia. As we work each day with children, many of whom are hearing the Gospel message for the first time, we stand in awe of God’s goodness and the generosity of thousands of people who have given to make this ministry possible.
We will never be able to forget meeting Loosya, giving her a Bible, and hearing her say, “Oh, I have always wanted to read this book, but never dreamed that I would really have one!” Thank you for giving and making it possible!
We were touched beyond words when a young Russian girl named Yoolya announced in our weekly evangelistic children’s club that she already knew the Bible story we were sharing that day. When we asked how she knew the story, she told us that since we had given her a Russian-language children’s Bible storybook, she had been reading it every night with her brothers and sisters. She went on to say that they could hardly wait until bedtime to see what new thing God had done. Thank you for giving and making this possible!
Then there was the day that we visited an orphanage to play in the snow with the children. As we played together, we learned that these precious children had no sheets for their beds. We immediately purchased warm winter sheets and gave them as a gift of love to the orphanage. That day, those children learned that God’s love wasn’t just a word in one of the stories that we share, it was something that was real and could make a huge difference in their everyday lives. Thank you for giving and making it possible!
We could go on for days about the wonderful things that we are allowed to do because of your generosity. What a privilege to be able to hold orphan children and share with them the love of a Heavenly Father! What a privilege to see children memorize Scripture passages and realize for the first time that there is hope for tomorrow! What a privilege to be a servant and represent millions of Christians, who support us with dedication beyond anything we ever dreamed possible. Thank you!
May God richly bless you for giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and may He burden you to give even more so that every child in the world will have the opportunity to know Him and feel His love!
